OSAKA — The seventh Japan International Apparel Machinery Trade Show, a four-day event organized by Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association, will begin May 15 at Intex Osaka in Suminoe Ward. It will feature more than 300 companies in the apparel machinery industry from 19 countries and economies.

There will also be a two-day symposium, beginning May 16, on the theme “Apparel industry trends in the IT era,” featuring lectures by manufacturers and academics on the first day and a panel discussion on the second. The last trade show, held in 1999 in Tokyo, drew 315 manufacturers and more than 28,000 visitors. The event is held every three years.
