WASHINGTON – A group of former sex slaves who served Japan’s wartime military will file a lawsuit against the Japanese government in the United States on Monday, a private nongovernmental group dealing with the issue said Friday.
Six Koreans, four Chinese, four Filipinos and one Taiwanese woman will lodge the case with a federal district court in Washington to seek compensation and an official apology from the Japanese government, the Washington Coalition for Comfort Women Issues said.
