A 16-year-old boy was arrested early Monday on suspicion of beating his mother to death with a baseball bat at their apartment here, police said.
The teenager made an emergency call to police at around 1 a.m. Monday, telling them he had killed his mother, according to police.
Police rushed to the apartment, where they found the body of his 50-year-old mother. They detained the boy on suspicion of murder, they said. The identities of the two were withheld.
The boy allegedly inflicted several blows to his mother's head and other parts of her body with a metal bat after the two quarreled over the woman's debts at around 9 p.m. Saturday.
