Portable computers' claim to fame is that they allow you to access and send information anytime and anywhere. But what if you leave a cable at home or bring the wrong one on a business trip?

Such cable-related troubles may soon be over now that Bluetooth radio technology, which allows wireless connections for electronic products, is expected to spread.

Originally developed by major Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson, Bluetooth technology uses a 2.4 GHz radio frequency band for communication between different devices within a range of some 10 meters.
