The government will send 2,000 radios to East Timor to help U.N.-supervised polls on the area’s independence to be held as early as August, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiromu Nonaka said Tuesday.
Following the historic accord signed between Indonesia and Portugal in May, East Timor is currently preparing for the polls to let the Timorese decide whether they want autonomy or independence.
