Will 401(k)-style pension plans be a savior for aging Japanese, or will they only add to their retirement concerns?
A joint task force from four government ministries will finish a basic draft of a new pension system in June. If everything goes smoothly, a version of the U.S. 401(k) pension plans will be introduced in fiscal 2000.
