Pop diva Namie Amuro gave birth to a boy early Tuesday morning in a hospital in Iwatsuki, Saitama Prefecture.
The 20-year-old singer's baby weighs 2.69 kg, hospital officials said, adding that both Amuro and child are in stable condition. Amuro went into labor Monday night and delivered the baby at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday at the hospital. She was accompanied by her mother and her husband, publicly known as SAM, a professional dancer whose real name is Masaharu Maruyama, the officials said.
