The Canadian Embassy is accepting applications until June 30 for the 1999 Canada-Japan Working Holiday Program, in which participants will be given a working visa valid for up to one year.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, and be Japanese citizens living in Japan during the selection process. Five thousand entries will be selected on the basis of a one-paragraph essay in French or English describing the applicant’s reasons for wanting to participate.

Notification of acceptance will be sent out by early September 1998. For further information, call the Canadian Embassy information hotline at (03) 5412-6321.
