OSAKA — An intoxicated 32-year-old man commandeered a police cruiser before being apprehended and arrested 10 minutes later for alleged theft early August 8 here in Kita Ward, officials said.
Mutsuaki Kobayashi, a restaurant worker, allegedly hopped into the police car around 4:50 a.m. as officers left the vehicle. He immediately drove off. The officers had been dispatched to the ward’s Tsuruno district after a local resident called police, saying “A drunken man is on a rampage.”
