The Hyatt Regency Kyoto has released a special summer accommodation plan that gives visitors the opportunity to experience the traditional culture of the ancient capital.
The Kawadoko accommodation package showcases Kyoto’s summer feature of a dinner by the kawadoko (riverbed), enjoying wild sweetfish, vegetables from Kyoto and other seasonal cuisine on a platform just above a river in green surroundings. The package allows visitors to choose from three traditional Japanese restaurants in Takao or Kifune, popular summer retreats in the mountains of Kyoto.
With the package, a yukata, or light kimono for summertime, is provided for guests to wear for dinner and to take home. There is a choice of around 100 patterns and each comes with matching obi and geta. A taxi between the hotel and the restaurant is also provided.
The one-night package, available on most days between June 8 and Sep. 30, starts from ¥51,000 for a single room and ¥70,000 for double room, including tax and service charge.
The Hyatt Regency Kyoto is a five-minute walk from Shichijo Station on the Keihan Line or a 15-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. For further information, call the reservation center toll-free at 0120-123-420 or on 075-541-3210.

Black Ship burgers hit Yokohama

For the occasion, the InterContinental Yokohama Grand will prepare a special Kurofune Burger plate at its lounge and bar Marine Blue from May 29 to June 2, limited to 20 sets a day.
Kurofune, or Black Ships, was the name given to the American vessels that arrived in Japan, demanding the country be opened to the world. Hence, the hotel’s original squid ink bread recipe is used to make the buns.
