Q1: What was your first encounter with Japan?
My first encounter was everything I expected from this country, a clean and picturesque city with an extremely responsible society. At that time, I worked with Japanese people for the first time and it made me understand that the thinking process of this society is different from other parts of the world and how important it is to understand and respect that.
Q2: Please state your motto in life and why you have chosen it.
“Duty, discipline, process and decorum.” My plan is to establish a global cybersecurity research lab and provide a complete spectrum of cybersecurity solutions to help organizations work better. We can combine any of our products and services to create the best package that’s tailored to business needs. We collaborate with industry, academia and research labs.
Q3 : Over your career, what achievement are you the proudest of?
I worked on research and together with my Japanese team, I was able to develop three cybersecurity products. I am proud of my current contributions to cybersecurity nation-building over the past years, which made possible for me to offer my skills in my respective field of expertise. I am confident that I can continue to contribute even more in the years to come.
Q4 : What are your goals during your time in Japan, your current position or in life?
My goal is to engage my Japanese team to understand their prototype process and give them the resources needed to build a product. With cyberthreats becoming stealthier and more persistent, executive leaders need to increase and apply ongoing efforts into cybersecurity so that their enterprises become more adaptive and resilient.
Q5 : What wisdom, advice or tips can you give to people living and working in Japan?
Focus on the objectives of your business and speak up.
