Actress Norika Fujiwara and Kabuki actor Kataoka Ainosuke tied the knot on Wednesday, their management agencies said, after they announced being in a relationship in August.
Fujiwara and Kataoka, both 44, will hold a press conference in Tokyo on Thursday to talk about their nuptials.
It is the first marriage for Kataoka, a native of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. In addition to being an actor of the traditional Japanese performing art, Kataoka also acts in modern dramas, with his performance as a Financial Services Agency inspector in the megahit 2013 TV drama series "Hanzawa Naoki" seeing his popularity rise.
Fujiwara, hailing from Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, divorced comedian Tomonori Jinnai, 42, in March 2009, about two years after marrying him.
Fujiwara, also a model, is a popular television and theater actress.
