Director Neil Labute returns to the misanthropic, edgy territory of the 1990s films that made his rep such as "In the Company of Men." Stanley Tucci — playing the lead for a change — stars as a slightly desperate lawyer who dumps his wife and turns up on the doorstep of a former mistress, Velvet (Alice Eve), after a four-year absence. Anyone who appreciated the discomfort of "Before Midnight" or "Carnage" should give this a look.
