Daido Moriyama (b. 1938) is one of Japan's leading photographers.
An Osaka native, he worked in commercial design before moving to Tokyo in 1961 to study photography.
In 1963, he made his photographer debut as a freelancer when some of his works were published in Japanese camera magazines.
Moriyama's images are usually atmospheric, grainy, black-and-white depictions of daily life. In this exhibition, the photographer's first solo show in the Kansai region, he presents more than 400 prints, including some rare color photographs.
On Aug. 6, Moriyama is scheduled to give a lecture from 2 p.m.; till Sept. 19.
