Nov. 29, Claudio Abbado conducting in Tokyo Bunka Kaikan -- Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major, Op. 61, featuring Hilary Hahn; Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Op. 68 "Pastorale" (Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827).
The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra presented six concerts and three opera perfor- mances during their 10-day November tour of Japan. The 144-member orchestra was appearing here under the batons of artistic director Claudio Abbado and long time guest conductor Mariss Jansens.
