SAN FRANCISCO -- Katie Webber, 19, has a killer smile and short bleach-blond hair. Dressed in a leopard skin tank top and blue bikini bottoms, and dancing to a routine she learned that morning, Webber sailed through the first two cuts of the Extreme Football League's (XFL) San Francisco cheerleader tryout last November.
Out of 230 girls, an abundance of big hair, glossy lips and exposed belly buttons, only 100 remained. Webber, who's danced since she was three, was not impressed with the competition.
"It kind of bothers me," she says surveying the other women. "Because I've worked very hard to get where I am. Some of these girls are like, 'Look at me, I'm cute, I have fake boobs, I've been in Playboy . . .' but that's about it. They can't move, they have no presence. It was like, yech!"
