Yokohama BayStars first baseman Jose Lopez, whose 14 homers this season tie him for the team lead, has suffered a fracture on the big toe and was set to be deactivated on Friday.

Lopez, who is batting .275 with a team-leading 44 runs batted in for the BayStars, was struck in the left foot by a batted ball during batting practice before Wednesday's game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks at Yafuoku Dome and missed the team's last two games.

The former Seattle Mariner was diagnosed at a Fukuoka hospital and no date has been given for his return.
