Kashiwa Reysol advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League despite a second-leg 2-1 defeat to South Korea's Suwon Samsung FC on Tuesday night.

Goals from North Korean striker Chong Tese and Ku Ja-ryong in each half put Suwon 2-0 up and in control of the tie, but Yusuke Kobayashi struck in the 65th minute with his first career goal to make it 4-4 on aggregate, sending 2013 semifinalist Kashiwa through on away goals.

"We got through over the two games and I am both happy and relieved," said Kashiwa manager Tatsuma Yoshida. "We knew we would be under pressure for 90 minutes but we coped by making the adjustments that we needed to make through the game.
