Hideki Matsuyama is headed to his first British Open after finishing second in the international qualifying competition Friday.
The 21-year-old two-time Asian amateur champion qualified after shooting a 69 in the second round for a two-day total of 135, four shots off the pace of Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand.
Daisuke Maruyama also qualified with a 136, and China's Wu Ashun booked Asia's last spot with the same score.
