Kosuke Kitajima completed a double with a victory in the men's 200-meter breaststroke in a U.S. swimming Grand Prix series meet Saturday.

The two-time double Olympic champion touched the wall in 2 minutes, 10.35 seconds, adding to his win in the 100 the previous day in the meet, which is part of his warmup for the Olympic qualifying national championships in Tokyo next month.

"I strained too much in the final," said Kitajima, who was also first in the preliminary round. "I've gained horsepower. Now I am thinking of my strategy to move a step further."

Kitajima held swimming seminars last year in disasters-stricken areas afflicted by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

"Being that this is an Olympic year there are many meets that will draw attention," he said. "I think I can strong messages to Japan. I definitely have to compete in the London Olympics."
