BERLIN – Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding, the operator of Germany’s Leipzig Halle Airport, has signed an agreement on a strategic partnership with the operator of Kansai International Airport to strengthen their global airfreight services.
Under the agreement reached earlier this week, the airport operators plan to share information to attract new customers while promoting personnel exchanges.
In terms of the amount of air cargo handled, Leipzig Halle Airport in eastern Germany is the second-largest in the country and fifth-largest in Europe.
For New Kansai International Co., operator of Kansai International Airport, it will be the first such collaboration on freight services.
Kansai International is already in partnerships in passenger services with the operators of Vancouver International Airport in Canada and Gold Coast Airport in Australia.
