Sony to sell DeNA stake to Nomura

Sony Corp. plans to sell all of its 13.14 percent stake, or some 17 million shares, in social game provider DeNA Co. to Nomura Securities Co.

Sony said Monday it will book a gain of about ¥40.9 billion from the sale as nonoperating profit for fiscal 2012 ending this month. It is now the second-biggest shareholder of DeNA.

Sony suffered a record group net loss of ¥456.6 billion in fiscal 2011 due to the poor performance of its television division and the yen’s sharp appreciation.
