Trilateral bonds key to Asia: China

Stepped-up cooperation by China, Japan and South Korea is expected to help promote their prosperity and unity in East Asia and serve as a driving force in the global economy, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has said in a report.

The report noted that the three countries together account for some 20 percent of the world’s population, economy and trade.

The ministry compiled the report, which also took note of progress the three have so far made in their collaboration, before their annual summit in Beijing from Sunday to Monday and because this year marks the 40th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic ties and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea.
