Kan Otake held the Hanshin Tigers to three hits over eight innings to hand the Yomiuri Giants their third straight victory on Saturday as they won 3-0 in the Central League.

Otake (5-2) allowed a leadoff double to Fumiya Hojo in the first, but that was the only time Hanshin put a runner in scoring position. Otake fanned 10 and walked none to silence the Tigers' bats, retiring the last 15 batters he faced after Shun Takayama's leadoff single in the fourth. The loss was Hanshin's fourth straight.

"I kept hanging in there and managed to get through eight innings," said Otake, who struck out 10 batters in a game for the first time in seven seasons. "Seiji (Kobayashi) called good pitches and I'm happy I could keep locating.
