The WBA on Thursday ordered super flyweight champion Kohei Kono to defend his title against interim champ Luis Concepcion.

The sanctioning body has given the two sides 30 days to agree to a fight. Kono won the belt in March 2014, and has successfully defended it three times, the last time in April.

"I'm looking forward to it," Kono told reporters on Friday, when he trained in Tokyo.

The 35-year-old is 32-8 with 13 wins by knockout and one draw. The 30-year-old Concepcion, from Panama, has a career record of 34-4 (24 KOs).

Hitoshi Watanabe, the chairman of Kono's Watanabe gym, said, "Kono's gotten stronger. Whoever his opponent is, I think he'll give a good effort."
