Shintaro Fujinami, aiming to win his fifth straight start, imploded on Saturday, surrendering seven runs in 5-2/3 innings in the Hanshin Tigers' 11-2 whipping at the hands of the Yomiuri Giants.

Fujinami (7-5), who had won six straight decisions dating back to May 14, gave up nine hits, walked five and hit two, while striking out five in front of 45,418 at Tokyo Dome. The Central League-leading Giants won their fifth straight.

"I wasn't able to get a handle on the necessary adjustments," Fujinami said. "I wasn't even able to do the bare minimum of what was asked of me.
