Yokohama F. Marinos captain Shunsuke Nakamura will face more time on the sidelines as the former Japanese international was diagnosed with a torn right thigh muscle that will keep him out for three weeks, the J. League club said on Sunday.

Nakamura, 36, only returned April 25 from left ankle surgery, a procedure that had shelved him since February. Marinos said the Celtic legend suffered his latest injury on Friday during training.

Without Nakamura, Marinos have been out of the first-stage title race, sitting in 11th a dozen points off the pace of Urawa Reds.
