The four-time defending X League champion Obic Seagulls will play against team in the United States this summer.

The Seagulls will visit Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in August and take on a local semi-professional football team on Aug. 14, Obic and the city of Tuscaloosa announced on their websites. The tour is supported by Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, the hometown of the Seagulls and a sister city of Tuscaloosa for the last 28 years.

The Seagulls have traveled to Germany and played local amateur teams the past two years. This time the national champions will play the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League Blazers, an all-star team specifically organized for this game.

According to the Seagulls' official website, the APDFL is a 35-club semi-professional league based in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. The APDFL will select the players who will play the Seagulls as the Blazers.

The Narashino International Association said Narashino accepted the offer to become a sister city of Tuscaloosa in 1985, and that the deal was made official the following year.
