Sochi Olympic double medalist Noriaki Kasai had to settle for fifth place in the men's individual large hill ski jump at the season-ending World Cup event in Planica, Slovenia, on Sunday.

Kasai, who won the men's silver medal in the large hill and the team bronze in Sochi, made leaps of 134.5 and 133 meters, which was only good enough for fifth with 267.8 points.

Slovenia's Peter Prevc won his third title of the season with efforts of 136 and 142 meters for a high of 283.7. Severin Freund of Germany (280.8) was second, while Norway's Anders Bardal (278.5) was in third place.

Sochi double gold medalist Kamil Stoch of Poland won his first men's overall title with 1,420 points. Kasai was tops among Japanese ski jumpers, finishing in fifth place with 1,062.
