At Yokohama Stadium, Tatsuhiko Kinjo singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the BayStars edged Hokkaido Nippon Ham to extend their winning streak to a season-high six games.
Kinjo’s two-out RBI single off Shintaro Ejiri (4-1) came an inning after Takuro Ishii hit a game-tying solo home run in the seventh.
BayStars get lefty
YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) The Yokohama BayStars have acquired left-hander Matt White, who was with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Triple-A Las Vegas this year, the Central League club said Tuesday.
White was given a 40 million yen contract, which includes a signing fee, and is scheduled to arrive in Japan on Sunday.
