BTM names Miki as new president

Shigemitsu Miki, a vice president of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, will be promoted to president to succeed Satoru Kishi, bank sources said Thursday.

Kishi, 70, will become chairman, sources said, replacing Tasuku Takagaki, 71, who is expected to become an adviser.

The management reshuffle remains subject to approval by a general shareholders’ meeting due in late June, sources added.

Miki, 65, joined Mitsubishi Bank, a successor to the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, in 1958 and has served as a vice president since May 1997.
