Sixth favorite Nihonpiro Ours coasted to victory in the Japan Cup Dirt on Sunday to claim his first Grade One title.

The 5-year-old romped home in 1 minute, 48.8 seconds at Hanshin Racecourse, coming home 3½lengths ahead of third pick Wonder Acute.

Hokko Tarumae finished third, a further half length back, while top favorite Roman Legend was fourth.

Nihonpiro Ours, ridden by Manabu Sakai and trained by Yuki Ohashi, earned ¥130 million in prize money.
