Jemaah Islamiyah makes watch list

The Financial Services Agency said Monday it has required financial institutions to report suspected transactions linked with Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian Islamic militant group allegedly linked to the al-Qaeda terrorist network.

The FSA added Jemaah Islamiyah to its watch list after the United Nations added the group to its terror list following the bomb attacks allegedly carried out by the group on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Oct. 12.

The U.S. State Department also designated Jemaah Islamiyah as an international terror group.
