Jubilo Iwata midfielder Yuki Kobayashi, who won his first cap for Japan in June, will move to Dutch club Heerenveen, the J. League first-division side announced on Friday.

Kobayashi played for Tokyo Verdy after coming through the youth ranks and moved to Iwata during the 2012 season. As of Friday he has scored five goals in 23 league games this term.

Kobayashi has made a total of 35 appearances in the top flight and 138 in the second tier.

The 24-year-old made his Japan debut when he came on in the second half of Japan's 2-1 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the final of the Kirin Cup in Osaka.
