Naoko Yamaguchi, the WBA women's super flyweight champion, will make her second title defense on April 10 against Italy's Loredana Piazza, her gym said Tuesday.

The 34-year-old has 13 career wins, including 11 knockouts, and two defeats. She won her world title and her first defense by decision.

"I hope the third time will be the charm and I can win by knockout," Yamaguchi said.

Yoko Gushiken, her gym's chairman, was full of praise for the 33-year-old Piazza, who has nine wins, four by knockout, in 10 fights.

"She boxes in a beautiful European style and makes use of her footwork," said Gushiken. "I think it will be a good bout."
