A K-1 kickboxer rescued two men who became trapped after their vehicles collided in Naruto, Tokushima Prefecture, the police said.

According to the police, K-1 fighter Kosuke Komiyama, 30, who operates a gym in Kawasaki, was passing by when a car and a truck collided head-on Wednesday.

Komiyama first dragged Hiroki Kishimoto, a 25-year-old car mechanic whose right leg was broken, out of the car, which had started burning. He then used an elbow strike to shatter one of the truck's windows and help driver Takahiro Furushiro, 51, get out.

Komiyama injured his right arm when he struck the window, but no one involved in the accident incurred life-threatening injuries, the police said.
