A drunken 60-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kicking a Pepper robot in a fit of rage at a SoftBank Corp. store, police said.

According to the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, Kiichi Ishikawa from Yokosuka entered the local SoftBank branch Sunday morning and kicked a Pepper there. He has admitted to damaging property, saying he did not like the attitude of a store clerk.

The clerk was not injured, the police said.

Security footage shows the drunken Ishikawa kicking the robot, according to the police. Investigators said the damaged Pepper now moves slower and that its internal computer system may have been broken.
