Motorcycle-riding gunmen on Monday shot dead a 66-year-old Japanese man who was waiting for a ride in Antipolo City, east of Manila, police said.

They said Kazuaki Tsuya was standing under a footbridge in front of a mall when he was shot in the head at around 2 p.m.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he died, the police said.

Quoting a witness, a police investigator said the assailant fired at least two shots at the victim with a handgun.

The police said they were looking for a motive for the attack.
