Snack food maker Calbee Inc. said Tuesday it will establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Britain next month to enter the largest snack market in Europe.
Capitalized at £4.9 million, or about ¥860 million, Calbee (UK) Ltd. will begin to sell the Snapea Crisps series made from dried peas in Britain this spring. The product is popular in North America.
The British unit also plans to start producing snacks from January 2015.
