NARITA, CHIBA PREF. – Narita International Airport Corp. said Tuesday that it has received ¥3.2 billion from Tokyo Electric Power Co. as compensation for the negative impact of the March 2011 accident at its Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant.
The airport operator and Tepco began talks in October 2012 on compensation for a drop in the number of foreign passengers as well as flight cancellations following the nuclear accident.
The deal was reached Sept. 9. The airport operator booked the money as an extraordinary profit for the April-September half.
