Taipei Zoo and Sapporo Maruyama Zoo will sign a partnership agreement in Taipei on Thursday to advance ties and further cooperation in conservation programs.

Under the deal, the two zoos will form a partnership to further the objectives of dedicating themselves to the cultivation and appreciation of wildlife through conservation, education, research and recreation.

They will cooperate in programs and projects benefiting the aims of each institution, assist each other through sharing knowledge and expertise, and confirm the undertaking in an annual report.

Taipei Zoo already has similar deals with Tama Zoo and Kushiro City Zoo, also in Sapporo.
