Panasonic Corp. said Monday it aims to more than double its overseas sales of residential lighting equipment from around ¥3 billion in fiscal 2012 with a focus on marketing energy-saving LED devices in other Asian markets.

In fiscal 2012, the majority of lighting equipment sales abroad was derived from fluorescent lamp sales in China, the electronics giant said. In other markets, including Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Taiwan and Hong Kong, the focus will be on selling LED equipment to meet growing demand for energy-efficient products, it said.
