“15th Japan Media Arts Festival”

The Japan Media Arts Festival, organized by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs, is an annual festival that brings together new Japanese media works, divided into four categories: art, entertainment, animation and manga.

Awards are given to participants of each of the categories and this year the grand prizes go to Yoshihiro Yamamoto’s “Plain Voices” film; Tsubasa Ohyagi, Baba Kanpei, Takeshi Nozoe and John Powell’s live-streamed “Space Balloon Project”; Akiyuki Shimbo’s animation “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”; and Hisae Iwaoka’s manga “Saturn Apartments”; till March 4.
