NEED Corp., which plans to open a new boarding school in Hiroshima, will hold an event to share information about Jinseki International School, featuring former Oxford Dragon School headmaster John Baugh. The Dragon School is one of the world’s leading junior boarding schools and Mr. Baugh was headmaster of the school for fifteen years.

This international school will be a boarding school for primary school students and is scheduled to begin classes in Hiroshima Prefecture’s Jinsekikogen in April 2020.

Jinseki International School welcomes former Oxford Dragon School headmaster John Baugh as an adviser who is participating in all the preparations necessary for the development of the educational facilities and boarding accommodation, including opening the school and international boarding school recruiting.

In this event, Mr. Baugh will talk about the characteristics of this school and his outlook on international boarding schools in Japan based on his experience. This will give foreign nationals in Japan an opportunity to learn the specifics about Jinseki International School.

John Baugh biography
・Over 30 years of experience as a headmaster in the U.K. at Solefield School, Sevenoaks (1986–1997), Edge Grove, Hertfordshire (1997–2002) and the Dragon School, Oxford (2002–2017).
・He is currently executive director of St. Andrew’s School, Turi, Kenya. (2018–)
・Member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) Governing Council and chairman of their Education Committee.
・Former chairman of the U.K. Boarding Schools’ Association.
・Carried out many inspections for the U.K. Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
