Space Seed Holdings Acquires Patent Rights for Ultra-High-Pressure Sintering Technology Invented by Professor Yoshihisa Mori of Okayama University of Science
Space Seed Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kengo Suzuki, hereinafter “Space Seed Holdings”) has acquired the rights to a patent for the invention titled “Anvil Cell, High-Pressure Generation Device, High-Pressure Sintering Device, Spark Plasma Sintering Device, and Spark Plasma Sintering Method” by Professor Yoshihisa Mori of Okayama University of Science (Location: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; President: Hiroyuki Hirano). The rights were transferred by Kake Educational Institution (Location: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; Chairman: Hiroshi Kake), and the patent application was filed in March 2025.
About the Invention
This invention introduces an innovative anvil cell structure that enables sintering in ultra-high-pressure ranges far exceeding the limitations of conventional Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) technologies. While typical commercial SPS systems operate at around 100 MPa, the high-pressure generation device in this invention is capable of producing pressures up to 10 GPa. This makes it possible to cover conditions required for diamond synthesis, such as 5 GPa and 1500°C.
