Tsunan Sake Brewery Exhibits and Offers Sake at VIVA TECHNOLOGY 2024
Tsunan Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, Representative Director: Kengo Suzuki, hereinafter “Tsunan Sake Brewery”) showcased and offered sake at the VIVA TECHNOLOGY 2024 booth on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, with the cooperation of TOPPAN Digital Co., Ltd.
Exhibition Details
On May 22, 2024, within the TOPPAN Digital Co., Ltd. booth at VIVA TECHNOLOGY 2024, Tsunan Sake Brewery offered two types of sake: “GO GRANDCLASS Uonuma Koshihikari Edition” and “Green Sake (using Euglena cultured yeast extract)” as part of a demonstration of sake providing experiences using NFC*1 technology.
*1 NFC (Near Field Communication) is a type of wireless communication technology for individual identification called RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). It is a worldwide standard for short-range wireless communication technology. Reading and writing to NFC tags embedded with IC chips can be done using devices equipped with NFC reader/writer functions.

Future Developments
The method of introducing sake using NFC technology demonstrated the possibility of providing detailed information about the sake when presenting the menu and detecting the opening status of the bottle. We plan to explore its application in terms of quality management and promotion in the digital society in the future.
