Two years after giving its airport the nickname Tottori Sand Dunes Airport, named after the popular manga series "Detective Conan," Tottori Prefecture on Thursday launched a photo contest in a bid to revitalize the region.
As part of the Pink Tottori! Tottori Photo Contest, which has a ¥100,000 grand prize, contestants must submit a photo of something pink relating to the prefecture.
Tottori is already famous for its beetroot-based pink curry, and the prefectural government seems keen to adopt the color.
