German pianist Stefan Aaron, known for playing at unusual outdoor venues, has performed on the helipad of the 296-meter-tall Yokohama Landmark Tower.

The 41-year-old played his signature orange piano on Japan's second-tallest building Friday during the fifth stop of his Orange Piano Tour.

As part of the global tour, he has performed in the Swiss Alps and on the Great Wall of China.

He said he chose the Landmark Tower because of the beautiful scenery of Yokohama's Minatomirai port district.

With cheerleaders dancing in the background, the performance, which lasted around 2½ hours and was filmed, also included an original piece based on Yokohama.

The video is scheduled to be released by the end of the month.
