Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corp. on Monday opened an exhibition based on “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” a popular British children’s book, at its head office in Tokyo’s Marunouchi business district.
The exhibit, on the first floor of its head office, features illustrations of British waterfront scenes, vegetable gardens and Peter Rabbit’s house.
Produced by Japanese landscape artist Kazuyuki Ishihara, the exhibition will run through January and go through design changes in accordance with Christmas and New Year’s to give it seasonal features.
Many people go to trust banks seeking advice on inheritance or retirement issues. The exhibition is partly intended to attract more clients.
“Young people may feel hesitant to visit trust banks, but we hope the Peter Rabbit exhibition will help these people come into our office,” Mitsubishi UFJ Trust President Tatsuo Wakabayashi said.
The rabbit has been an MUFJ brand character since 1988.
