A portrait of 21-year-old Hermila (Hermila Guedes), who returns with her infant son to her hometown in northeast Brazil from Sao Paulo. Her boyfriend, the father of her son, has promised to join them but fails to show. Though loved by family and friends, being stranded in a remote village devastates Hermila. Wanting to get out of the place and start afresh, Hermila comes up with a shocking plan to earn some quick money. An absorbing, slow-moving movie, with outstanding cinematography from Walter Carvalho.
